WeForceinc.org specializes in helping people help themselves. Safe Harbor is an example of what a community can do when it works together. Safe Harbor is a warm and nurturing place, not just for people but also for Earth's creatures. Follow along, and you’ll see what I mean.

Meet Cookie the Cat
Cookie, a lovely young female cat, made her home in the Safe Harbor Community. Being feral, Cookie was very wary and would hiss at the residents while hiding under buildings, keeping her distance from people. Safe Harbor typically assists families by offering them temporary housing until they can find a permanent place to live. Why not extend this kindness to the creatures of the earth as well?
The Staff at Safe Harbor solicited a feline advocate to come out and set a trap for Cookie. After Cookie was trapped, the kind folks at a local cat sanctuary spayed Cookie at no cost. Well, Ms. Cookie magically returned to SafeHarbor. I say it’s magic because she wasn’t expected to come back.
Somehow, Ms. Cookie convinced the feline advocate to arrange for her to return to Safe Harbor after her hospital stay and recovery. She is now the latest addition to the Safe Harbor Community. On any given day, you will see Cookie meeting and greeting the residents of Safe Harbor.
Welcome to Safe Harbor Cookie.

What's Next for SafeHarbor
Recall "Hay-Hay" from the Moana series? I hope you do because Safe Harbor was fortunate to encounter their very own Hay-Hay.
Sacramento offers a stunning blend of rural charm and cityscapes, and occasionally, you can experience both right at home. As the Safe Harbor Community was caring for fruit trees and establishing a new garden area with native plants and sustainable water features, Hay-Hay decided to explore. It's no wonder that Hay-Hay chose to make Safe Harbor her home.
The residents were taken aback by Hay-Hay's boldness in moving in. She was often seen engaging in her chicken activities in the Safe Harbor community gardens, scratching the ground for worms and bugs, making herself quite at home. Safe Harbor wasn't prepared to accommodate a solitary chicken, so they sought advice from locals on how to catch one. When a friend from the Funky Chicken Rescue saw a picture of Hay-Hay, she remarked, “Those breeds are fast!” Thus began the great Hay-Hay adventure. It took a month to capture Hay-Hay, using the classic string, box, and feed trap. When the trap was finally triggered, it was a moment of celebration. Hay-Hay can now enjoy her delightful chicken life at the Funky Chicken Rescue in Northern California.
Happy Clucking Hay-Hay, we will miss you.
